Scaffolding prop jacks carry the vertical load of slab and beam formwork. The two-part telescopic body gives coarse adjustment through pin holes and fine adjustment through the threaded nut, so the prop can be set exactly to the soffit level and released in a controlled way when removing the shuttering.
